Ellen Gallagher was born in Providence, Rhode Island in 1965 and moved to New York in 1997. Solo exhibitions have been organized at Anthony d’Offay Gallery, London (2000), and at Galerie Max Hetzler, Berlin (1999). Her work has been included in group exhibitions at Ecole Nationale Superieure de Beaux Arts, Paris (1999), at Museo de la Ciudad de Mexico, Mexico City (1998), at The Irish Museum of Modern Art, Dublin (1997) and at The Whitney Museum of American Art, NY (1995).
