Arto Lindsay

A multi-talented presence on the New York "downtown music scene", Arto Lindsay is also at home with the street sounds of Brazil. With five solo albums and over a dozen group/collaborative albums to his credit, as well as production efforts for the likes of David Byrne, Ryuichi Sakamoto, Laurie Anderson, Caetano Veloso, and Maris Monte, he has also composed scores for the Frankfurt Ballet and directed the stage production A Tribute to Carmen Miranda for the Brooklyn Academy of Music.

Transcultural Lindsay likens his restless experiments to "Jumping gaps, from cell to cell, from beat to beat". His most recent album is Prize (1999).
